SPOT Women’s Event
Please join SPOT Women’s Event to reflect on how to grow: “A soft, open, bleeding heart, like Christ’s.”
How can we protect & enrich the natural traits that women hold of being vulnerable, empathetic, & “wearing your heart on your sleeve?” Christ warns us against letting our hearts turn cold during painful times (Matthew 24:12). But it is incredibly challenging to choose openness, love, gentleness, understanding, & selflessness in a cruel world. This is especially difficult to practice during trials, heartbreak, or
betrayal, when we’re tempted to close, harden, and “protect” our hearts.
Choosing to have a warm & open heart, & choosing to be empathic or vulnerable, is seen as weakness, foolish, an emotional liability, and a material loss in this world, but Christ shows us that it’s a virtuous strength.
